Service was very nice, but everything else mirrored the other reviews I read before I came in. Chips tasted store bought. Salsa smooth like hot spaghetti sauce. Cheese enchiladas very plain with very mild red sauce. Beans and rice very plain. Salad simple and bland blue cheese dressing. Bathroom did not smell good. really surprised, because it seems like someone should be reading the reviews and making changes. It's much too nice a building and good servers to be giving out such plain, bland food. First totally change the salsa for chunky spicy goodness. Cook the chips fresh. Dress up the enchiladas with a darker more flavorful red sauce. Add green onions on top for garnish. Add some redness to the rice and a little corn or green chili pieces, and spice up the beans with more garlic and onion and sprinkle some cotija cheese. There is so much potential here being wasted on plain bland food.

Service was inadequate, restaurant needs a much due upgrade. Looks like back from the sixties, old and stale, food was okay, servers need to be retrained, no napkins, utensils, needed to ask for them.

It had been a long time since we have eaten here. We moved to Long Beach from Covina about 21/2 years ago. The food still has the home made taste. The service is still great, Ramiro was our server and he was attentive and accurate, and is one of the best servers if not the best. We will make more of an effort to drive and have a great meal here more often.

After a night of drinking my friends and I came to this diner STARVING! Our waitress took our order quickly and answered any questions that we had. Our food came out fast and was delicious! This was the perfect place to come to get something to eat after a night out. Prices are somewhat average, would def. come here again.

I've been going here since they opened over 20 years ago. A creature of habit, I always get chile Verde tostada. However this day I got two taco lunch one chicken one shredded beef and this may be my new order. I love the salsa for the chips which is more a chile sauce. This is a great place for banquets. We have had Christmas lunches in the past here. They have two rooms. The prices are reasonable and the food has always been good.

Was in the area today for a memorial service. A group of high school members came in for lunch. Food was excellent and considering the size of our group, we were all served pretty fast. The staff was able to take care of us all and divide the tab up between us. A most enjoyable lunch and of course the company was great even though not everyone knew one another. Thanks Villa Tepeyac for facilitating us.

We have been going to Villa Tepeyac for many years, since they opened at this location. The food is excellent, the staff provide friendly service and we always enjoy our meals plus drinks whenever we go there. Ask for Ramiro when you go, he's an excellent server. ☺

This Mexican restaurant has a unique name to remember. It is located right off the 10 freeway, but it is not easy to access for the first time driver. The building is very big and traditional. It is spacious inside, so you don't have to wait. The food was like home made; the atmosphere was cozy. I don't want to say that it is the best, authentic Mexican food, but it is certainly above the average. The price was a little bit above the average too.If you just want to go to a warm and comfortable Mexican restaurant close by, then this is the place to go!

This was my first visit to Villa Tepeyac Mexican restaurant. I ordered a soft shell flour chicken Taco and a shredded beef Enchilada. A side of fresh tortilla chips and salsa were immediately brought to my table. Meal came with a choice of side salad or soup, and rice and beans. I chose the salad with blue cheese dressing. It was a very simple salad but had good dressing. Both my shredded chicken Taco and the shredded beef Enchilada were very tasty, hot and with the right amount of sauce. My service was fast, thorough but not pushy. All in all, a good experience, good food, good service and didn't break the bank.

This place is ok. The servers are friendly. The food is good if you want to enjoy in conjunction with the bar environment. They will make fresh guacamole for you at your table if you order it. My daughter loves watching them make it and enjoys eating.
